Mindfulness for businesses
Rachel Ashcroft Mindfulness offers a variety of mindfulness services especially tailored to corporate customers.
Work-related stress, depression or anxiety is quite common and can have a negative impact on your employees. Undue pressures and demands placed on staff in the workplace can affect productivity and decrease wellbeing.
With many employees working from home as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, establishing a proper work-life balance can be a challenge for even the most disciplined of people.
Our corporate mindfulness sessions, which can be provided online or on site, help teach methods of relaxation through mindfulness and meditation, improve work-life balance, manage stress, enhance creativity and increase productivity.
We can provide one-off sessions or a scheduled programme to suit a variety of needs and budgets.
It affects more people than you think
At any given time, 1 in 6 working-age adults have symptoms associated with mental ill health
It seriously affects career prospects
People with a long-term mental health condition lose their jobs every year at around double the rate of those without a mental health condition.
Poor mental health has a cost
Mental ill health is responsible for 72 million working days lost and costs £34.9 billion each year
Mindfulness for individuals or groups
Mindfulness is a simple and easy way to improve your day to day life and help you to deal with stress.
Our individual and group sessions are done in the comfort of your own home (generally following an 8-week programme)
Sessions are tailored to meet the needs of the participant/s following an initial assessment and vary from person to person.
Mindfulness can help to:
Live more in the ‘now’ with a heightened awareness
Mindfulness for children and schools
At Rachel Ashcroft Mindfulness, we understand that each child and school is different and unique.
For this reason our mindfulness services for schools strive to flexibly deliver fun, engaging and informative workshops for all Key Stages to teach life skills in resilience, to boost self-esteem, develop a growth mindset and teach techniques for anxiety management. We understand how precious time is within school and work to fit seamlessly into your busy day, working around core curriculum lessons.
Each session is bespoke and can be tailored to meet the needs of your school and differentiated across all key stages.
It can start early
Half of mental ill health starts by age 15 and 75% develops by age 18.
Mental health of children is deteriorating
The percentage of young people aged 5-15 with depression or anxiety increased from 3.9% in 2004 to 5.8% in 2017.
Getting treatment can take too long
About 20% of young people with mental ill health wait more than six months to receive care from a specialist.
Mindfulness for children and parents
Understanding that children can get stressed, just like adults, is an important first step to improving their mental health. Our 4 week programme for children and parents helps children to learn and implement the basics of mindfulness. Helping them to be resilient, confident, understand how to reduce their stress and anxiety and have higher self-esteem so that they may see the world in a more ‘colourful’ way.
It's a great experience for parents too, helping connect with their little ones while gaining an understanding of mindfulness to help their every day lives too.
Rachel Ashcroft holds an enhanced DBS and is fully licenced and insured to work with children.
It's important to start early
Half of all mental health problems manifest by the age of 14, with 75% by age 24
It can impact adulthood
1 in 3 adult mental health conditions relate directly to adverse childhood experiences
Access to treatment isn't always easy
Less than 1 in 3 children and young people with a diagnosable mental health condition get access to NHS care and treatment
Mindfulness Teacher Training
The Mindfulness Now programme offers an integrated approach to mindfulness teacher teaching and aims to equip teachers to work with individuals and groups with many requirements including physical and emotional pain, stress and anxiety, as well as building emotional resilience.
After completion of the course, successful graduates are awarded the Mindfulness Now Certificate and offered the opportunity to join the national network of Mindfulness Now licensed and accredited teachers. The Mindfulness Now teacher training programme is contained in an intensive 5 day course which is experiential in nature.
Although distance courses in mindfulness exist we believe that for a vocational qualification it is vital that teachers learn through a ‘hands on’ practical approach with plenty of discussion and the learning dynamic which can only come out of working in a mutually supportive group.
